Character Classes
In the past, there were no classes as we know them today. Every player developed a playstyle that defined their behavior in the game. Looking at the big picture, there are two main groups: peaceful and aggressive. Peaceful players invested their resources into mines and defenses, while aggressive players tried to catch them (or each other) and then reinvested their profits into larger fleets. Expeditions provided extra income, mainly yielding resources and a small number of ships. Over the years, faster servers appeared, causing expeditions to lose significance because mines produced much more resources. This problem was addressed by introducing classes into the game in 2019. The three introduced classes enable three distinct playstyles, which on an ideal server yield nearly the same profits in a given time.
After registration, the game immediately offers you to choose a class. Selecting a class is highly recommended because it grants passive bonuses during gameplay. You can choose from 3 classes:
THE COLLECTOR
The collector class generally includes players with a peaceful attitude. Choose this class if you prefer a peaceful playstyle and want to develop slowly but steadily. Collector players should focus on improving mine production at every stage. Fleets and expeditions can be useful additions, but it is important that they do not distract from continuously building mines and defensive systems. It is also advisable to build enough defenses so that during longer offline periods (e.g., at night), other players are not tempted by your accumulated resources. However, it is better to avoid huge, heavy defenses, since defenses are also consumables that "wear down" during attacks. Such massive defenses are called "turtles," and players themselves are sometimes referred to as turtles.
This class offers bonuses such as increased mine and energy production, larger cargo capacity, and the ability to build crawlers. You can find more detailed information about utilizing these bonuses on the playstyles page.
Since miners usually have smaller military fleets than fleet players, they typically accumulate a surplus of deuterium, while fleet players—who constantly move their large fleets—often suffer from a deuterium shortage. Therefore, miners often serve as deuterium suppliers for fleet players, who pay back with metal or crystal.
THE GENERAL
The general class—true to its name—is chosen by aggressive players who gain resources by destroying other players’ fleets or raiding planets. They are called "fleeters." Fleeters usually invest a significant part of their income into building larger and stronger fleets to maximize profit while minimizing losses. If you feel brave and strong enough to earn huge profits through massive battles using your strategic skills, then choose the General class!
Class bonuses include increased warship speed, extra military research levels, and reduced deuterium consumption. Thanks to this playstyle, you need to build minimal or even no defenses: resources earned can be immediately reinvested into a larger, stronger fleet, allowing you to engage in bigger battles and earn greater profits.
The ship producible by the General class, the Reaper, has an extremely strong combat performance and can collect part of the debris field immediately after battle, which can be tactically advantageous.
Careful play is needed to keep your main source of income—your fleet—safe from attacks and ninja attempts. Although as a fleeter you can make huge profits from a few battles, you can just as quickly lose everything! A single wrong move that leads to your fleet’s destruction can cause a huge setback—even knocking you off the top of the leaderboard.
THE EXPLORER
The explorer class is a very special class built around expedition-based income opportunities. Compared to other classes, it earns 4 times more from expeditions and can collect debris on position 16, enabling huge income from constant expeditions.
Increased expedition income, larger planets during colonization, and reduced research time. This playstyle requires the most time spent playing since starting expeditions is a time-consuming process. The expedition fleet must be built from warships, so some players like to combine the bonuses of this class with the fleeter playstyle, as it provides significant additional income.
The ship belonging to this class, the Explorer, can collect debris fields created on position 16. Sending a large fleet after a battle against pirates can result in a large debris field.
One challenge of the Explorer class is the slow start in a new universe. While collectors immediately benefit from mine bonuses and generals gain immediate advantage from fleet gameplay, explorer bonuses only truly show after researching astrophysics. Therefore, it is advisable to obtain astrophysics as soon as possible or choose another class at the start.
After choosing your character class, you will not be able to change it for free for some time. Once or twice a month, during special events, you may get free class change items that allow you to try the advantages of other classes.
Later, if you want to produce the three special ship types—the Reaper, the Explorer, or the Crawler—but are not in their associated class, you can temporarily switch to the appropriate class to manufacture them. The same applies not only to ships but also to any other bonuses provided by the class. However, be sure to have the proper class change item if you want to return to your original class!
ALLIANCE CLASSES
Just like players, alliances can also set alliance classes. The bonuses of these classes affect all members, but the class change item is very rarely available for free. During events, if such items can be chosen, it is worth coordinating with other members so that not everyone selects the same one, thus expanding your possibilities.
